Each of these plugins adds functionality that isn't already built into the platform. Features like copying content from site to site, embedding Google reviews, and making your Squarespace multilingual.

1. Lightbox Anything Plugin
Lightboxes are a great way to show extra content without having users leaving the page.
With this plugin you can create a lightbox pop-up from any text, button or image link. Useful for displaying size charts, newsletter forms, galleries, anything that you can add to a page.
We're always surprised and interested to see what people come up and how they use it.

2. Sidebar Plugin
There are a few different ways to add a sidebar to your blog but this plugin is arguably the easiest and most flexible solution. You can customize the look and feel of the sidebar and even have multiple sidebars on the same site.

If you're not into hacks and have a few dollars to spend ($50 to be exact), the Squarespace Sidebar Plugin is the easiest way I've found so far to add a sidebar to a template that doesn't have one.

3. Accordion Tabs

You will have two options for adding tabs to a page:

5. Mega Menu and Pop Out Navigation
Technically this isn't a plugin, it's a course. But if you want to learn how to make a multi-column mega menu (on desktop). This works with 7.0 and 7.1.

6. SquarespaceWebsites Tool Extension PRO
This is actually a chrome extension, but it unlocks all kinds of features that are really useful and a big time saver if you build Squarespace sites for clients. It's also really well supported. There's a private slack community where you can get support. This is one of those tools that once you try it you can't live without it.

It's like a nocode tool, for a low-code platform.
8. Video Lightbox Plugin
This one is super popular with filmmakers and videographers. Turn your vimeo and youtube links into video lightboxes that you can open from any link on your site. Buttons, images, navigation links. Click here to see what I mean.

9. Show Color/Size/Fabric Swatches
You don't have to move to Shopify or another platform to have this option. If you need custom color swatches for different fabrics or texture, it's possible with this plugin. Pair it with the variant sync and your customers know exactly what to expect with each variant.

10. Weglot (Make your site multilingual)
I tested Weglot on this website and it really was a breeze to setup. This is also one of the least expensive multilingual plugins for Squarespace. If you're curious how it works take a look a this guide. It walks through how to set this up on a Squarespace site.

11. Image Carousels
Sometimes you just want to switch up the standard design and give your clients something different. SquareMuse's Custom Elements are designed to do just that.

A simple plugin to be able to hide and show sections.

13. Forced mobile menu in Squarespace 7.1

14. Blog Post Table of Contents
If you're creating anchor links and a table of contents for your blog posts, this plugin will save you a ton of time.
It autogenerates a TOC block based on your h1,h2,h3,h4 headings.
From a user perspective it makes navigating long form posts easier and has some SEO benefit as well.
Spark solves the customization problem of having to copy and paste too much css to get the design you want.

17. Form Character Limit
Need to put an age verification pop-up on your site?
Elfsight has a solution.
This requires users to confirm their age before accessing your website.
You can easily edit the message/text and choose the re-direct URL if they select 'no.'

19. Vertical Timeline
Vertical timelines are a cool way to tell your company story. Even Squarespace has one.
This plugin transforms your quote blocks into time capsules allowing you to embed images and links in your timeline.

20. Convertkit Orders Integration
This is more of an integration than a plugin but it's super useful nonetheless.
If you want to tag Subscriber based on product purchased and send automated email based on those purchases, Convertkit is the best option.
Update: Squarespace Email Campaigns now allows follow up emails based on product purchased but doesn't have the full functionality of Convertkit.
21. SuperJack
Export and autosync your Squarespace orders to a Google sheet with Superjack.

Testimonials sliders are really popular. If you do a Google Search you'll find a ton diy ways to get this done. There's also a few plugins that can either help save time or give you a prepolished look.

You probably didn't think of Shopify as a plugin but with Shopify Lite you can embed a buy button in your Squarespace and get the benefits of a Shopify checkout.
That means alternate payment methods and gateways for $9/mo.
Another option to unlock different payment gateways is Ecwid.
29. Review Plugin
Best review plugin for Squarespace is hands down Wiremo. It's the only review app with a Mail After Purchase feature. You also get the benefit of reviews and stars in your search results.

30. Add Google (and Facebook) Reviews
Add Google and Facebook reviews to your site. It's a great way to showcase your customer testimonials.

An affiliate program is an excellent way to incentivize your customers to become advocates of your brand - and get paid for it.

Anytime I've used LiveChat on a website it's led to more engagement. More questions, more leads, and better support.

Facebook Messenger is a convenient way to add live chat to your site. Messenger is a widely used platform, it's free, and lets you leverage messenger as a way to communicate with your customers.
