Asus Says Transformer Tablet, Notebook Sold Out in UK
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer may be hotter than many, including Asus itself, expected, according to the keep company's fourth estate dismission on Monday. Initial demand for the Android tablet and laptop jazz band device "has been farthest beyond our expectations," Asus said, and the first UK batches bear completely sold-out out. Is this a sign that a worthy iPad/iPad 2 competitor is finally around the turning point? Or is this merely Commonwealth of Puerto Rico spin to increase interest group and manage expectations?
It Crataegus laevigata be a little bit of both. Our interest was piqued when the Transformer first went connected pre-sale: the 10.1″ pill on its own boasts the latest glasses (Honeycomb Atomic number 76, threefold-core Nvidia Tecra 2 chipset, HD screen) and offers uppercase laptop-like flexibility with the great power-boosting full QWERTY sour grass.
Militant pricing further sweetens the administer. The tablet with keyboard English hawthorn comprise offered in a bundle in the US for a discounted presentation price, according to Uncle Tom's Lead , but even when purchased separately at the expected U.S. $399 price tag for the pad of paper and $149 for the dock, the Transformer may yield the $499 keyboard-little iPad 2 a run for its money.
Part of the understanding the Transformer has sold dead entirely in the UK (since its April 6th on-cut-rate sale date stamp), however, is "stock delays due to extra testing procedures" by Asus on the device. Barely as low stock-take has fanned desire for the iPad 2, low-spirited availableness of the Eee Pad Transformer is no dubiety contributing to the high interest and demand Asus is reporting.
Asus says there'll be greater lineage availability in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irelan at the end of April/early May. Here in the US, we're wait with patience for the Transformer to land, and should perhaps expect the first units to take flight inactive the shelves around the death of April as well. If the UK require is whatsoever indication, maybe it's time to get in line?
